Wow, I should truly try to be more up to date when it comes to journals, it's been months!
On the other hand, I am enjoying the Holiday Break with my family after completing a semester at college. Home is simpler in a lot of ways, and has a lot more quiet moments, but I love it because it's where my family is.
I really missed staying in sync with the happenings at home, especially when I would find out one of my siblings had a competition or important school extracurricular activity. Another fact I didn't realize until after I left home is how much I missed yard work! On campus there is no need to cut wood for fire or mow the grass or even a mile walk to get the mail. In a way, being on campus makes things easier physically when there is no responsibility to trim nature back, but then there are other areas that take up so much time now. The city is great with this flow of activity, there is always something happening, not to mention how many people I see everyday. In the beginning, I always felt like I was running to keep up with remembering all the things I was supposed to between classes, school work, friends, events, free time, and no time at all!
At home, there were not so many events to remember outside of daily routine. Of course, there are not a lot of people around where I live either, so that's probably a large part of the equation taken out on the grand event scale. Most people are socially connected through church, school, or whom is related to who.
Either way, despite the vast differences, I like home and the city, the place I can go back to and the place I can move forward.
